Curl Couture Wood Dress
Spun from timber, inspired by dance: Say hello to “Curl Couture,” introduced at Bentonville Fashion Week. John used his wood- and leather-craft skills to design a dress inspired by model Kadey Copeland and her love for dance.
This sculptural dress is made entirely from bent wood veneer, looped and layered like a faerie’s spell. Inspired by the swirling weightlessness of a ballerina’s tutu and the wild elegance of faerie folklore, Curl Couture blurs the line between garment and myth.
Crafted from hand-shaped cherry and maple veneer and fastened with our brass bag hardware, it floats with impossible lightness—yet it’s rooted in raw, natural material. It’s fashion as sculpture. Costume as story. A dress as delicate and untamed as the woods that birthed it.
